Making Batteries
Project Overview: For our final engineering project of the year we had the choice of picking what we wanted to do and if we wanted to complete it with a partner. Rodrigo and I chose to be partners.
Our Project: Rodrigo and I decided we wanted to undertake a project to do with electricity and after much research, we landed on making batteries. Our batteries, we decided, were going to be made of (for the most part) everyday household items. We set ourselves the goal of making two batteries (of different materials) and to test/compare their outputs. And we did just that.
Below is the slideshow we made for our project and used to present to the class.

Reflection: While completing this project I learned that making batteries was actually quite a fun task, and not to mention its very easy to make a low voltage one. We ran into a few problems over the course of this project, one of them being we kept forgetting to bring certain materials. Another was not being able to correctly measure the voltage. In the end Rodrigo and I still did a good job of sticking with project and getting it done. We worked around problems that we ran into and even found new ways to fix and improve our batteries. This entire year in STEM has been a great learning experience and I look forward to new and more difficult tasks in the years to come.
